Hi there, Easter is around the corner, but we are still on time to realize this diy bunny pouch to collect choccolate eggs! After Easter period, we can reuse them in many ways: they can become cute candy pouches, closet bags with perfumed lavander or pretty little holder for bags!
To realize this project you’ll need:
– floral cotton fabric 50 x 50 cm;
– beige cotton fabric 50 x 50;
– colored twine;
– needle, thread, scissors and chalk;
– sewing machine;
Fist of all print or draw the pattern how to realize a bunny pouch. Prepare 4 shapes for the bag (2 floral and 2 beige) and 4 shapes for the ears of the rabbit (2 floral and 2 beige), like you can see in the image.
Now we’ll realize two bags, of course one floral and one beige! Overlap each shape with the twin, the right side of the fabric must stay inside. Sew along the hem following the pattern that you can see in the image: leave a hole on the bottom of the beige bag, and two holes along the lateral sides of the floral one – you must sew for 1 cm, keep a hole of 1,5 cm and continue sewing until the opposite side.
For the ears of the bunny, you must combine two shapes in different colour: the beige one with the floral one. Keep the right side in the interior, sew and turn up. In this way each ear will have a beige side and the other floral.
Now you just have to match the items in the right way: the ears are on the floral pouch (turned up in the right side), put them in the beige bag (this is still in the wrong side). Sew along the upper hems and turn up.
Here is how it looks like when you’ll have turned up the pouch:
Close the hole on the bottom of the beige pouch, and put it in the floral one.
Make a stitching high about 1,5 cm, and add the twine.
Now your Easter craft is finished, ready to be filled with chccolate eggs, candy and sweets! Since it’s springs, I took pictures in the garden, hope you like! Marta
