Tutorial diy woven felt basket

Hi, if you want to learn how to realize a woven felt basket, this tutorial is just for you! 🙂 The project is very simple and can be a nice Easter craft to do with kids! I took pictures with boiled eggs, but you can put what you prefer, maybe some delicious chocolate eggs will make your children happier, or you can use it for Easter egg hunt! Unfortunately today is a rainy day, I apologize for dark photos… I hope you’ll be patient and enjoy the tutorial!

Supplies:

– 15 felt strips 50 cm (long) x 2 cm (hight);

– hot glue;

– pegs or pins;

Let’s start! Weave 10 strips together, each one has to cross the others perpendicularly. Try to get a checkered pattern as you can see in the picture 🙂

Check the strings: they must have the same jut out length, then secure them with glue, especially the corners!

Now we still have 5 strings remains, put one of them in vertical position. Weave the strings to create the sides.

Fix the strings with pins or pegs at first, then use hot glue.

Continue with other 4 strings.

Here is how the basket should look like after 5 strings:

Now you just have to fold the ends (alternately inward and outward), glue them to the top side and cut away extras.

And now your woven felt basket is finished! You can use it to organize magazines, fruit, bread… as you wish! Hope you enjoy! Marta 🙂
